It wasn’t a Good Friday if you were living it. In fact it was terrible. Traumatic. It surely didn’t feel holy, I’m sure it felt more like defeat. Like being in the middle of our own worst days, it’s hard to see past the pain. I can only imagine the overwhelming waves of grief, regret. The fear of the future and even questioning of the past. Was any of it real? Was he really who he said He was? On Friday, they didn’t know Sunday was coming. Did they feel crazy? Maybe even shameful or delusional? They watched Son of God who perform miracles, but yet He couldn’t save himself. Friday didn’t look like a miracle. It was nightmare. ✨ You’ve been there and so have I, maybe not Golgotha, the scene of Jesus crucifixion, but a day that was dark, traumatic, and full of fear. What sustained us? What brought us through the valleys and carried us out of the pit? HOPE, pure belief that the darkness couldn’t last forever and expectation of joy returning again. They didn’t know it then, that we would call it good, and it’s okay if you don’t “see the good” in your situation right now either. But Sister, holdfast, your Sunday is coming. 💕
